 Do a self-breast exam every month after menstrual October is observed as  breast cancer awareness month. Today, women in their 20s can have breast cancer. However, it is found more frequently in women who are over the age of 40. The cause of breast cancer is unknown, what we do know is, the earlier the breast cancer is detected, the better the chances are of a successful treatment. Do not delay telling your doctor about lumps or a lump, in your breast. Too many women delay in reporting the presence of a lump or other telltale signs to their doctors. Some Warning Sign:  The commonest symptoms is a painless lump. It is usually in the top outward part of the breast. The breast should be palpated systematically after the menstrual period every month to make certain there is no lump in the breast.
